Easter Triduum Is Here Again!

I had to capitalize that one because that is beyond big; it is beyond huge. It is what gives Christianity its meaning – the fact that Jesus came, he suffered and died; then HE arose from the dead.  St. Paul in his letter to the Corinthians wrote:-

Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you be saying that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ cannot have been raised either, and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is without substance, and so is your faith.

What is more, we have proved to be false witnesses to God, for testifying against God that he raised Christ to life when he did not raise him — if it is true that the dead are not raised. For, if the dead are not raised, neither is Christ; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is pointless and you have not, after all, been released from your sins.  In addition, those who have fallen asleep in Christ are utterly lost. If our hope in Christ has been for this life only, we are of all people the most pitiable.

In fact, however, Christ has been raised from the dead, as the first-fruits of all who have fallen asleep. As it was by one man that death came, so through one man has come the resurrection of the dead. Just as all die in Adam, so in Christ all will be brought to life.
(1 Corinthians 15: 12 – 22)

So please forgive me but I have to shout about the RESURRECTION!!

A bit about the Easter Triduum.

When I was a child – in more than one sense of the word – I thought the Easter Triduum was three separate events and I did not understand why we had to attend all of them. I found they were long and drawn out and I would fall asleep most of the time. Then, I’d rather be home sleeping or something.  That was when I was a child!

Thank God I am not a child any more and thank God for New Life!!  God in His infinite mercy, has granted me the grace to understand what is is all about; and now I will not miss it for anything in this world.  It now forms a huge part of my spiritual growth.  The Easter Triduum is not three separate events.  Its not like a three-day concert where you can go either the Thursday, the Friday or the Saturday show.  It is one single event that spans three days.  It is like a phenomenal sequel; you would not read or look at just a part, you will want to read or look at the entire thing! Nah true?!  Yes you would – absolutely!!  The Easter Triduum is the Mother of all sequels! It is the celebration of the most powerful, and the most moving love story that there ever was and there ever will be

Word Of Encouragement

AS a Catholic, please do not put any other event ahead of the Easter Triduum.  If from where you are right now, it makes absolutely no sense to you, then in sincerity of heart, ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten your heart and your mind to His truth.  With a pure heart and a right mind, you will arrive at one place and to one truth – It Is All True!  GOD did send His Son as man in the person of Jesus Christ! Jesus did come into the world to save us all from our sins.  He was betrayed; beaten, condemned and suffered immensely for us all. Then he died; but the story did not end there!  He Rose From The Dead, thereby defeating our final enemy – death. St. Paul again wrote,

Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin comes from the Law. Thank God, then, for giving us the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(1 Corinthians 15: 55-57)

So the Easter Triduum is one single celebration in a three part sequel covering three of the most important aspects of our faith: the Holy Eucharist and the Priesthood, the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead.  They are all connected; they are all related.  What connects them is the immeasurable, unthinkable Love of God for us all.  No matter how many Easter Triduums you have attended, if you earnestly seek God and His righteousness, every Easter Triduum will strengthen your faith and bring you closer to Christ Jesus. So please cancel any previous engagements you may have made in error, and make sure you attend and fully participate in this Easter Triduum. If and where possible, attend the sacrament of reconciliation either before or if available during the next three days.

May God Bless you richly. Through the power of His Holy Spirit, may the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perception of what is revealed, to bring you to full knowledge of him. May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his call holds for you, how rich is the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people, and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with the strength of his power at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at his right hand, in heaven, far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. AMEN
