Grace Music Ministry Host Schools Praise Fest
Well the month of October has come and gone. What a tremendous month of grace it was for Grace Music Ministry who hosted four major events during that time. At all of the events hosted, not only did they minister to the people using the gift of music, but they also ministered by serving.
On Friday the 16th of October, Grace Music Ministry hosted a praise fest for schools. This praise fest was attended by some 600 school students from a number of Catholic primary and secondary schools throughout the island of Trinidad. This initiative was sparked by the tremendous success the group has had with its outreach in the schools. This outreach started initially about seven years ago when the music ministry was invited to do a Lenten retreat at the Saint Gabriel’s Girls Roman Catholic School in San Fernando. From that one event, other Catholic schools that found out about it, also requested the ministry to host similar retreats at their schools. The end result is that Lent has become a very busy time of the year for Grace.
So it was with great anticipation that the Schools Praise Fest was planned. Grace Music Ministry admits that they are greatly inspired by many of the schools that they Minister to, and they look forward to these events every year.
The Schools Praise Fest started with the praying of the Rosary by the Saint Gabriel’s Girls School Legion of Mary group. This was followed by praise and worship led by Grace Music Ministry, with many of the students and teachers not only participating but thoroughly enjoying praising and worshiping God.
Also present at the event were a couple of booths manned by Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and an aviation arm of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force. During the break the children thoroughly enjoyed going to these boots and interacting with the officers present. One of the police officers gave a presentation on bullying and how it should be dealt with.
A great day was had by all as they were blest with a beautiful sun-filled day – the day before was filled with heavy showers throughout the island.
God Is Awesome!!
