Love As I Have Loved You – A Reflection On John 15:9-17
In a world of shadows, where darkness creeps,
Love emerges, a light that never sleeps.
It’s patient and kind, not envious or proud,
In hearts it dwells, like a whispering cloud.
Love doesn’t boast, nor does it seek its way,
It rejoices in truth, come what may.
Through stormy seas and skies of blue,
Love’s steadfast, faithful, ever true.
It bears all things, endures each trial,
Its warmth, a beacon through every mile.
Love never fails, it conquers all,
In its embrace, we stand tall.
So let love guide, in every deed,
A song of hope, a planted seed.
For love’s the language that all can understand,
A melody sweet, across the land.
In this symphony of life we weave,
Let love be the chord that we believe.
For in the end, when all is said and done,
Love remains, the greatest one.
In this journey we embark, hand in hand,
Following the footsteps in the sand.
For Jesus, our guide, showed us the way,
To love one another, come what may.
As he loved us, selflessly and true,
So shall we love, in all we do.
For in this commandment, we find our call,
To love as he did, giving our all.
So let love flow, like a river wide,
With Jesus as our beacon, our guide.
In his love we abide, forevermore,
United in heart, to him we adore.
“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” – St Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa)
