Early Christmas Gift From Pope Francis
As an early Christmas present, Pope Francis will send out envelopes containing telephone cards and Rome metro rail tickets for the city’s poor. Two thousand envelopes will be distributed to the poor and needy of the city.
According to a communique launched by the Holy See Press Office, the envelopes will be offered in a number of places where help is provided by the Sisters of Charity. Volunteers along with Archbishop Konrad Krajewski, the Holy Father’s almoner, will also assist in giving out the gifts to the poor.
“It is the Pope’s Christmas present to the poorest and most marginalized of the capital,” the press release stated.
