Happy Birthday Pope Francis
It is an honor to let you know – providing you do not already know – that today is Pope Francis’ birthday. He is 77 years old. Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on December 17th 1936. He was ordained a priest on December 13th 1969. On May 20th 1992, he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Bienos Aires, Argentina, and on February 28th 1998, he succeeded as Archbishop of Buenos Aires. On February 21st, 2001 Jorge Mario Bergoglio was appointed Cardinal-Priest of San Roberto Bellarmino, and of course on that historical day of March 13th 2013, He was appointed Pope, assuming the name Francis.
We pray that God in His great mercy will continue bless and keep Pope Francis in His care. May He continue to fill him with the power of the Holy Spirit, touching and transforming many lives through him. As he leads the Church not just by word but by his very powerful examples, we pray that many, many Catholics and Christians and men and women of good will would be changed into “new creations” so that the Glory of God will be seen and experienced in our world. We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord. AMEN!!
