The Passion of Christ – A Sacred Musical Journey for Holy Week

As Catholics, Holy Week is the most sacred time of the liturgical year—a time to enter deeply into the mystery of Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection. And this year, I am humbled to share a project that has brought me to my knees more times than I can count:
The Passion of Christ – The Musical.
This sacred opera is more than music. It is a contemplative journey, born out of Scripture, prayer, and tears. From the Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem to the final breath of Jesus on the cross, this musical traces the final days of Our Lord with deep reverence and emotional truth.
A Work Born from Scripture, Silence, and Sorrow
To prepare for this project, I immersed myself in the Passion narratives found in the Gospels. I read. I re-read. I meditated on each line—each word. At times, I had to pause, overwhelmed by the sheer weight of what Jesus endured.
I reflected on the brutal scourging.
The crown of thorns.
The agony in the garden.
The unbearable pain of the crucifixion.
But perhaps most painful—and most beautiful—was meditating on Mary, the Mother of God, as she stood at the foot of the cross. Writing her perspective moved me to tears. Imagining what she saw, what she remembered, and how she still said “yes” to the will of God amidst unspeakable grief shaped some of the most moving pieces of the opera.
An Invitation to Enter More Deeply into Holy Week
This musical is designed not as entertainment, but as a sacred aid for contemplation, especially during Holy Week. Each scene draws you into the moments we relive in the Sacred Triduum. Whether you listen in solitude, play it during Adoration, or share it with your family or parish, The Passion of Christ – The Musical is meant to help you pray.
It is my deepest prayer that this work draws hearts closer to the cross, and in doing so, closer to the One who gave everything for love of us.
Now Available on Sanctus Music
I’m excited to share that the full musical will be available this week, possibly as early as Tuesday—just in time for Holy Week reflections.
